Your Royal Docks Labour Team would like to welcome you to the second meeting of 2019. For this meeting, we have Newham's Cabinet Member for Finance (Cllr Terry Paul - Stratford and New Town ward) talking about the new administration's budgets and what they mean to you and other Labour Members.
As you will know, the council budget effects everything from council tax, to schools, fly tipping, homelessness, and Newham's home building. Please come with questions and if you can't make it email Gen on kitchengenevieve@gmail.com- no query is too small if you don't understand chances are someone else doesn't either! Cllr Paul has also promised handouts which will be circulated with the minutes.
Our first meeting of 2019 was a great success we had lots of members join us and stay for the Royal Docks Community Meeting. In our next meeting, we will do a quick recap of the things discussed at both meetings. An agenda will follow.

*Campaign Update*
- Before Stephen Timms MP comes to Royal Docks we would like to get the word out an knock on Members doors. If you have never been door knocking but would like to get more involved at a local level this is a great way to start. James and Gen will have training sheets, scripts and you will be paired with an experienced campaigner. Dates will be confirmed after the meeting next week.
- West Ham CLP is having a fundraiser with John McDonnell MP (and Shadow Chancellor) Tickets are £25 and are available by emailing westhamlabour@gmail.com.
- It was great to see so many people support the wards of Shadwell and Lansbury in Tower Hamlets for the by-election. Unfortunately, the seat in Lansbury was taken by a member of the Aspire Party, which shows the need for us to help our fellow Local Labour Parties campaign.
